Welcome/Login

Welcome to New Canaan Country School, home to 630 students in Beginners through Ninth Grade. The moment you step on to our beautiful 75-acre campus, you’ll feel the energy and warmth found in a diverse community of children and adults from all over Fairfield and Westchester counties. For ninety-five years, our school has combined a deep belief in tradition and the educational value of fundamental skills with an ongoing commitment to creative teaching and continuous self-evaluation. The result is a dynamic school environment in which elementary and middle school children thrive.

Our most recent accreditation report remarked, “The people who inhabit the campus, both young and old, are busy and productive, yet relaxed and happy. The culture at Country School is unusually open and engaging.” Our extraordinary academic curriculum and exceptional faculty prepare children for success at the next level of schooling, and teach them to be life-long learners, ask questions, take risks, respect others, and be resilient in an increasingly complex world. The most selective secondary schools and colleges in the nation know our graduates to be confident, accomplished, intellectually curious, and kind.

I hope you will take a moment to read our Mission Statement and then explore the wealth of information about our school on this website. The best way to understand the essence of our school, however, is to visit our campus on the corner of Frogtown Road and Ponus Ridge. Please come by and experience what makes Country School unique.

Sincerely,

Tim Bazemore
Head of School
Our Mission

The mission of New Canaan Country School is to guide students to reach their intellectual, creative, moral, and physical potential. We value the imagination and curiosity of children and respect childhood as an integral part of life. Our teachers set high academic standards and challenge students to question, to think, to collaborate, and to act with integrity. The school works in partnership with families to teach personal, social, and environmental responsibility and to create a community that honors diversity and our common humanity. New Canaan Country School inspires students to be lifelong learners with the courage and confidence to make a positive contribution to the world.
