Welcome

From New Canaan Country School’s beginning in 1916, our school has benefitted from strong philanthropic support from generations of parents, trustees, alumni, grandparents and friends. These gifts, both literally and figuratively, built Country School and help fulfill our aspiration to have the best teaching and learning community in the country for grades pre-K through 9.

We are extremely fortunate to have a strong, active community of parents who volunteer their time and support our efforts to make our school curriculum ever more relevant for the 21st century. We are equally fortunate to have loyal alumni who support their “first alma mater” every year.

Over 90% of our parents, 98% of our faculty and staff, and 100% of our trustees contributed to the Annual Fund in 2011 – 2012. An impressive amount of former parents and grandparents also contributed.

All gifts enhance and enrich the experience of our students and support the faculty. Please review the pages to the left where you will find detailed information about supporting Country School.

Thank you,

Ways to Give
Make a Gift Online
There are a number of ways to contribute to Country School. Each means provides important and necessary support to the school and helps with our mission to “guide students to reach their intellectual, creative, moral, and physical potential.”
The Annual Fund
The Country School Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising campaign that provides direct and unrestricted support to the school's operating budget. The Annual Fund accounts for approximately 8% of the school's annual operating budget.
Capital and Endowment Giving
Over and above operational support through annual giving, capital and endowment gifts are used to support and enhance all aspects of the school, including teaching funds, scholarships, and campus facilities and improvements.
Planned Giving
From establishing a bequest, charitable trust or other estate plan to benefit Country School, the generosity of our community through planned giving is essential to the future health of the school.
