Even as our physical campus is closed, the Admission Office is maintaining a virtual presence for all families. Please contact us with any questions, requests for additional information, or other needs by email or by phone at (203) 801-5608.
We will be in touch about opportunities for our newly enrolled students and families to connect virtually with other Country School families and students through our Host Family Program as well as connect with faculty, division heads, trustees and even one another. Stay tuned for details about these virtual visits and events, and please know that we’ll be excited to welcome you to campus when the time comes!
A very warm welcome to you as parents of our new students! We hope that the information provided below will help you begin to prepare for your child's transition to Country School. In the coming weeks and months, we will update this page as additional information becomes available and eventually you will migrate to the Back-to-School resource page available to all 2020-21 Country School families. If you have any questions, please contact the Admission Office, email@example.com or (203) 801-5608.
For your information and in case you wish to have it for your records, please note that to access your completed 2020-21 enrollment contract at any time, you may return to the Parent Portal and click the small arrow to the right of your name in the upper right corner to display a dropdown menu; then choose Files & Forms and click Show completed forms. If you need any assistance with this process please let us know.
New Canaan Country School offers before and after school programming for all students in Early Childhood through Grade 9 at an additional cost. The program provides several options for care and enrichment in a fun, nurturing environment. Watch for the new fall listing of programs in early August. Please contact Kathy Kravec, Director of Plus Programs, (203) 801-5890, if you have any questions.
Summer Fun Enrichment week (June 15-19) provides new and returning students with opportunities to explore new areas of interest in a multi-age setting while also enjoying a fun, camp-like atmosphere set here on campus. This program is a great opportunity for new students to meet future classmates! Registration information will be sent out in late April.
Country School partners with Magnus Health SMR (Student Medical Record) to collect and store student health records. Through Magnus, you will have continuous access to your child’s health record as well as the ability to make updates when needed. In June we will invite you to access Magnus on the Resource Board in the Parent Portal so that you may update your child's online health record. In the meantime, you may wish to ensure you have a recent physical (CT Health Assessment Form) for your child ready to submit via Magnus prior to August 1 (the completed form must be no older than 13 months).
In the spirit of ensuring access to our school to those just beyond our neighborhood, as a way to build community among our students, as a commitment to doing our part in support of a sustainable planet and because less traffic on campus means a safer campus, Country School requires all eligible families to participate in our Community Transportation program. (Please note that Beginners 3/4 are not eligible to ride the bus and for Beginners 4/5 and Kindergarteners participation is optional, not required.)
A list of bus routes for the 2019-2020 school year will be published in late August. If you have any questions, please contact Transportation Coordinator Laurie Bepler, firstname.lastname@example.org, (203) 801-5650.
Lunch is available for students in Grades 1-9. We believe that food is an education and path to a healthy lifestyle. Whenever possible, we utilize locally sourced food in providing an array of options every day, which includes a salad bar, deli bar, yogurt bar, daily homemade soups, and a hot entree - all grounded in wellness to fuel your child’s day!
Please visit the Flik website, our food service provider, to read about the nutritional value of our school lunches.
