Summer Facilities Help
NCCS is seeking 2-3 college enrolled candidates to assist with our grounds and facilities. Candidate will gain experience working on a sustainably managed campus and learn how to present a functional and aesthetically pleasing product with a minimalist approach. The successful candidates will be clearing brush, rebuilding stone walls and assisting with athletic fields and landscaping. These positions can start as early as May 15 and can go as late as September 15. Pay is $12/hour and $1 more for each additional year of service.
Specific Duties include:
Property border management: including invasive species removal and control, stone wall repair and maintenance, tree pruning and vine control, brush cutting.
Athletic field maintenance: including mowing, string trimming, field lining, weeding of baseball and softball clay, aerating
Campus grounds maintenance: watering container plants and newly planted trees and shrubs, keeping campus clean and free of trash and debris, garbage removal, planting trees and shrubs, composter maintenance, adventure course and nature trail maintenance
Other duties: candidate will be part of the facilities department at NCCS. candidate will perform work as requested by the facilities department
Job Requirements: Candidate must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically strenuous work. Candidate must be able to be trained on certain power tools and equipment including, string trimmers, lawn mowers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, utility vehicles, and trucks. Hours are 8 hours per day, but somewhat flexible based on candidates ability to receive training and perform work with minimal direct supervision. 40hrs/week for June, July and August expected.
