Competitive Runner James Randon '09 Creates New App

New Canaan Country School gathered for the annual Cougar Run, Sat., Sept. 21. The event, sponsored by the Parents’ Association and attended by hundreds, included a 5K race, a Chase the Cougar Fun Run and a children’s obstacle course on the NCCS campus.
This year, runners were joined by alumnus and competitive runner James Randon '09. James was the first runner to break the 4-minute-mile barrier at Yale University. He recently ran in the finals of the U.S. National Championships, 1500 meters, and is one of the founders of Recover Athletics, a new app that assists in injury recovery and prevention. James led the runners in a pre-run stretch and paced them through the race.

“I first put on my running shoes here,” said James. “It’s great to see that there is still a schoolwide passion for running.”
