Country School Offers Summer Enrichment and Skills to Students

New Canaan Country School offered a rich and diverse array of online summer programming during the month of July. More than 200 students and 35 faculty members participated in 40 opportunities for academic development and creative expression, from the arts and math to writing and wellness, and so much in between. The SummerPlus enrichment classes were offered at no charge to the families.
“It was an amazing effort by our faculty who went above and beyond for students in this new world we are navigating,” said Director of the Plus Program Kathy Kravec, who organized SummerPlus.“Their creativity and expertise were on display virtually, just as they are in person, and the kids loved it.”

"We were so impressed to see what our kids produced and are so grateful for the organization, time and enthusiasm," said parent Laura Cramer. "It was empowering to the kids and a great learning experience for our whole family to think about what can be accomplished with some planning and interest."

Sample SummerPlus offerings included: No Bake Baking, Coding with Swift Programming, Current Events, Creative Writing Series, Sculpture, Garage Band, Math Wizards, All Things Basketball, Monumental Moments in History, Equity Book Club, Greek and Roman Battles, Yoga & Wellness, Harry Potter Universe and Ukulele.
