Mothers at Work Group Presents Career Development Panel

Parents' Association
The Parents’ Association Mothers at Work Resource Group facilitated a lively and frank discussion on career development on Feb. 8.
"As companies increasingly make gender diversity a top priority, there is no better time than now to be a woman in the workplace."

"Glass Door is an excellent resource for investigating corporate culture and compensation levels."

"LinkedIn really is the gold standard for professional networking and career research."

"Having your 'elevator pitch' tuned up and on-hand is essential."

These were some of the pieces of advice shared by panelists Susanna Nichols (moderator) Yolanda Coffield, Laura Pollock, Rebecca Leach ’92 and Jenelle Wideman. The panelists’ careers ranged from employment law to executive search and HR. Turn-out was excellent with a packed room. Lively conversation and questions permeated the discussion and reception. Special thanks to the Logo team who brought the sale to this group that frequently cannot be on campus during the time that the School Store is open.

The Mothers at Work Resource Group encourages all members of the community to participate and continue to share ideas for future events!
