Horizons Summer Program Celebrates Individuality

Inspired by the children’s book by Linda Kranz, the Horizons summer program theme is Only One You. Two-hundred and sixty-three students, primarily from Norwalk and Stamford, are celebrating their individuality through art, academics and personal stories. Now in its 54th year, the Horizons program’s curriculum is designed to reverse the “summer slide” in students’ academic progress, as well as instill confidence, resilience and optimism through our supportive community.
During the magical six-week program students experienced hands-on academics and enrichment activities, such as woodshop and maker lab. This summer learning is complimented with daily swim instruction and special events, such as a field trip to a Broadway show and an overnight camping adventure at NCCS. The Horizons experience continues in the fall with our school year and high school programming. For more on Horizons visit. www.horizonskids.org
