Composer Shares Inspiration with Middle & Upper School

Middle and Upper School students met Jordan Plotner, a British/American award-winning composer and producer based in Los Angeles during the Community Time assembly on Monday, Oct. 22.
A graduate of Yale University, Plotner spoke to the group about how he approaches his work and how he creates unique sounds in his compositions. He stressed that creative inspiration can be found anywhere. He gave examples of how music in a film scene can enhance the viewer’s experience. “Jordan emphasized that, regardless of anyone's talent, everyone has their own original ideas and they are always worth pursuing because they are what make you unique,” said NCCS Music Teacher Andy Tyson.
