Fourth Grade Art Students Explore Hispanic Celebration

In honor of Hispanic heritage and it’s cultural traditions, 4th grade art students learned about Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) which celebrates the life and memory of deceased friends and family members. The students made caretas - fanciful masks, often designed with deeply personal or symbolic meanings - in the style traditionally worn by revelers on Nov. 1 and 2. View video.
In Spanish language class, Señor Robb shared stories and provided age-appropriate contextual background for the popular event which draws millions annually.
