Country School Places Second at Chess Tournament
Country School students took home second place at the Fairfield County Invitational K-5 Scholastic Team Chess Championship held on April 19 at the Chess Club of Fairfield County in Norwalk.
The school’s team was comprised of ten Country School students. The students, many of whom attend the weekly afterschool chess program, played four rounds against teams from eight other area schools. “We are thrilled. This team has grown in skill and number over the last couple of years,” said Director of Afterschool Programs Kathy Kravec.
