Cougars Fight 'Til The Finish In Final Game

C. Badan
The 7th Grade Girls' Lacrosse Team played an exciting game against Rippowam but the final result was a disappointing 7-11 loss. It was a fast-paced game and the Rippowam Team had excellent skills and the "Home Field" advantage. During the first fifteen minutes, NCCS was on the defense much of the time and at the half we were down 3-6. During the remainder of the contest, we were better at running for ground balls and making cleaner passes which put us at an advantage to shoot. NCCS fought hard, continued to get opportunities to score, but could not convert all of these situations into goals. Our two goalies, Cate and Meghan, should be commended for several amazing saves! In addition, kudos to Alice, Janse and Lucy who scored two goals each! This was a challenging situation because we played with two subs in soaring temperatures. It was rewarding to see the Lady Cougars rise to the occasion and play tough throughout our final game against such an aggressive opponent! Way to finish our season, Cougars!
