Global Citizens Group Discuss Stereotypes at Book Read

Global Citizens Resource Group
On Sunday, Jan. 28, a group of students and parents met in the lobby of Grace House for a winter-time book read of "It Ain't So Awful Falafel."
The discussion about this delightful book, which threads themes of stereotypes, identity and immigration, was very insightful and engaging. The kids enjoyed their first book group experience and the entire group discovered things about themselves and their fellow NCCS community members. In the students' words: "This book is funny and it makes you think about what people from different places feel when they are in a new place, and what we can do to make them feel welcome and included." We recommend this book to Middle/Upper schoolers and their parents!
