Country School Lights the Night

Members of the Country School community raised red, yellow and white lanterns at the annual Light the Night Walk on Nov. 2 at Calf Pasture Beach. Dozens of students, parents, faculty and staff attended the event and raised $6,452 (far surpassing their goal of $5,000!) for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
For the fifth year, Country School participated in the walk which honors blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the disease, and helped to shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

“The Walk helped students understand that by showing up and putting our energy behind a cause, we can effectuate change,” said Upper School teacher and co-Director of Service Learning Will McDonough. “We are a school that cares deeply about our students and their families that have been affected by this disease; and we are a school that seeks out opportunities to connect with the broader community to spread the messages of kindness, hope, and positivity that are so integral to the Country School experience.”
