Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey Players Receive Upland Tournament Honors

Upper School student-athletes Courtney Edwards, Sloane Griffiths and Maisy Ricciardelli were named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2020 Upland Country Day Invitational Girls’ Ice Hockey Tournament, held Jan. 24-26 in Kennett Square, PA.
The event, which drew independent school teams from multiple surrounding states, is a long-standing tour stop on the varsity calendar, with players traditionally bunking overnight in the homes of competitors.

Head Coach and Upper School Teacher Scott Lilley was pleased with the trio’s well-deserved accolades as well as the entire team’s resilience and tenacity. “I was impressed with the team's grit, determination and sportsmanship in the face of stiff competition. The team outshot their opponents in 3 of the 4 games played, and scored 20 goals over the course of the tournament.”

The Cougars next face Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT, Feb. 5.
