"Let Us Gather" - Early Childhood Holds Community Gathering
Students in Beginners 3/4, 4/5 and Kindergarten practiced their greetings and welcomed one another to their Early Childhood Community Gathering Wednesday morning, April 20, in the Thacher Motor Skills Room. Everyone was pleased that the beloved tradition of coming together — which had been temporarily suspended during pandemic safety protocols — had returned.
As part of their social studies curriculum, the students have been developing a sense of self and an awareness for others and exploring the workings of the school environment to gain an understanding of their place in the broader campus community. Within this context, they were delighted to welcome to the circle Head of School Aaron Cooper, who shared a description of his role in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning community for everyone.
All then joined in singing “Let Us Gather,” a song written by Performing Arts Teacher, Jake Alrich, with lyrics emphasizing the importance of community, family and friendship.
