Festival of Books and PJs & Pizza - A Celebration of Literacy

Parents' Association
This year’s Festival of Books was a three-day celebration of literacy including book signings, mystery readers and a faculty panel discussion. One of the Parents' Association's biggest fundraisers of the year, the Festival of Books also provided many opportunities to build community, as well as classroom libraries. VIEW PHOTOS.
Highlights of the week included “PJs & Pizza,” which brought together Country School and Horizons students for a fun night of pizza, games, crafts and bingo! Students then heard stories by beloved mystery readers Fraser Randolph, Rob Mallozzi and Brenda Friedman.

Former alum and author Gigi Priebe ’74 treated Lower School students to a lively sneak peek into the real-world setting at Windsor Castle that inspired the her Henry Whiskers series.

In Early Childhood, children enjoyed a community read-aloud led by Early Childhood teachers in the Piazza.

Parents were also treated to a faculty panel summer read discussion and Q&A moderated by Jean Stevens. Abby Cali, Hannah Liu, Abigail Newport, Tracy Spain & Andy Tyson all participated in an open discussion of the books they read.

Thank you to the many volunteers for their time, energy, love of books, enthusiasm and creativity. It’s the dedication of the faculty, staff and parents that make NCCS a special place.
