Cougars Stomp Patriots' Rebellion

The JV Cougars got off to a hot start this season with a road victory tonight over the Ridgefield Patriots. With a couple of quick baskets from Derrick Francis and a first quarter buzzer beater layup from Nate Berhe, the Cougars took an early lead and never looked back. The Patriots made things interesting with an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 16 in the fourth quarter, but Nathan Roth, the Cougars leading rebounder, went coast to coast for a fast break layup, slamming the door shut on the Patriots comeback hopes. Cougars win 36-18.

This was a true team effort all around; the boys played tight defense and spread the ball around on offense. Sammy Wagner and Nico Rolfert led all scorers with eight points a piece, and even though one of Nico's baskets was an attempted alley-oop to Derrick, it still counts for two points in the scorer's book!

Thank you to our loyal fans for making the trip today - we will see you all in the new year. Happy Holidays!
