Cougars Down Skyhawks in Home Opener

In the long anticipated home opener for the NCCS Cougars, the JV Boys defeated the FCDS Skyhawks 32-28 in a tightly contested matchup. The Cougars grabbed the lead early and never looked back, although FCDS brought the game within two points on multiple occasions.

It was great to finally see the Cougars at full strength for the first time this season! Will DeSantis returned from injury and immediately provided some precision outside shooting, and Jax Falkenstein also played in his first game this year, in which he provided some stifling defense and a no quit attitude. This game, however, may go down in the history books as Sammy Wagner's "Flu Game." Despite fighting illness over the past few days, Sammy led the Cougars with 16 points.

It was another great team performance. We will see you all next Thursday, where NCCS hopes to protect their undefeated record at home against Wick. Tip off will be at 3:30 - see you then!
