MS Blue Boys Face Tough Pitching

Fraser Randolph
The New Canaan Country School Blue Middle School Team suffered a loss in its first game 9-0. They faced three tough pitchers, yet managed to pose scoring threats in three innings, but could not get the key hit to drive in the runs. Andrew Liebau, Jack Nally and Luca Ferran pitched effectively, but did not get the support in the field as the Blue Team made seceral fielding erros to allow Ripp's runs to score. Theer was one memorable play, however, as William Kieske made a fabulous grab of a hard hit line drive and turned it into a double play. Yesterday's game, nevertheless, served notice that this team has much baseball to learn. They will get better and face Ripp one more time later in the season.
