Nurture a love of music through private and small group music lessons. The Music Academy instructors offer a variety of instruments based on availability.
Instruction may occur before or after school, dependending on the individual teacher and student schedules. Fees vary, and are based on length of lesson and group size. Students who already have a relationship with one of the music teachers and wish to continue with that instructor must register through the Plus Program office.
Students are expected to come to each lesson prepared with all required materials. Practice between lessons is essential. Teachers can provide guidance on materials and practice expectations.
Most students continue lessons throughout the school year. We expect students to commit to a minimum of 10 lessons.
Sign-up is through our registration site. Please note, each program starts/ends at varying dates and times.
If you are interested in learning more about the Music Academy before registering, contact the Plus Program office at plusprogram@countryschool.net or (203) 801-5890.
We require 24-hour notice for any anticipated cancellations (including school sports games/activities and field trips). Please contact the individual teacher as well as the Plus Program Office at (203) 801-5890 or plusprogram@countryschool.net. Let us know if you need your teacher’s contact information.
When a student is out sick the day of the lesson or leaves school early due to illness, the teacher will make every effort to offer one make-up per trimester.
If the student is a “no-show” with no advance warning, then you will be charged for that missed lesson.
In the event that a teacher has an emergency cancellation, the teacher and the Plus Program Office will both make an effort to contact you within a 24-hour period. If your student needs to remain on campus during the regular scheduled lesson time, they will be brought to a supervised area where they can practice/study. You will not be charged for this missed lesson.
Music Academy will be billed several times throughout the school year. Billig will be processed through the business office and Blackbaud Tuition Management.
