  • Director of Diversity and Inclusion

    The Director of Diversity and Inclusion is a senior administrative position which reports directly to the Head of School and includes membership on the Senior Administrative Team. The Director will lead the development and implementation of a culturally responsive and culturally competent anti-bias curriculum across all four divisions of the school. The Director will support NCCS cultural competency through professional development programming for all faculty and staff, community education programming for families, and serve as the Board liaison for strategic NCCS Diversity and Inclusion efforts.

  • School Counselor or School Psychologist

    New Canaan Country School seeks a full-time School Counselor or School Psychologist to provide support to students (primarily in grades 5-9), to help them succeed academically, socially and emotionally. This person collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and community.

    The successful candidate must be an expert in the areas of child/adolescent development, assessment, intervention, learning, measurement, and data analysis work enhances student achievement and helps to create life-long learners.

    Qualifications include a master’s degree in school counseling, psychology, or an M.S.W. A PhD is preferred. Minimally, 3-5 years of experience in an elementary school setting with children in these grades is ideal.

    New Canaan Country School seeks an energetic, creative and experienced Grade 4 teacher who has a strong background in elementary education and who can effectively differentiate a rich and varied curriculum based on best practices in reading, writing, math and social studies.  This candidate must understand how to create an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive classroom where all learners are encouraged to take risks. A commitment to innovation and working collaboratively with colleagues is essential. Experience teaching a balanced literacy program that incorporates social studies and non-fiction text is desirable.
