NBC News Correspondent Shares Life Lessons with NCCS 9th Graders

NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk was on campus today to speak with ninth graders about her career as a reporter covering some of the most historic moments in modern history. Gosk, the aunt of Charlie ’19, Fiona ’21 and Louisa ’23 shared stories about some of her more interesting assignments, what inspires her about the subjects she covers, and life lessons she learned during the course of her over twenty-year-long career.
“The ninth graders are all tackling capstone projects that ask them to think about solutions for global problems,” said Upper School Teacher Elizabeth Carroll, who helped facilitate the event. “I was pleased to introduce them to someone who has had a front row seat to many global issues, as they have unfolded.”

Currently based in New York City, Gosk contributes to NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, TODAY and MSNBC. Previously, she had been based in London working as a correspondent and producer, while traveling extensively throughout the world covering stories that included six Olympic games, the death of Osama Bin laden and the war in Iraq. Gosk is the proud mother of two daughters.
