  • Director of Diversity and Inclusion

    The Director of Diversity and Inclusion is a senior administrative position which reports directly to the Head of School and includes membership on the Senior Administrative Team. The Director will lead the development and implementation of a culturally responsive and culturally competent anti-bias curriculum across all four divisions of the school. The Director will support NCCS cultural competency through professional development programming for all faculty and staff, community education programming for families, and serve as the Board liaison for strategic NCCS Diversity and Inclusion efforts.

  • School Counselor or School Psychologist

    New Canaan Country School seeks a full-time School Counselor or School Psychologist to provide support to students (primarily in grades 5-9), to help them succeed academically, socially and emotionally. This person collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and community.

    The successful candidate must be an expert in the areas of child/adolescent development, assessment, intervention, learning, measurement, and data analysis work enhances student achievement and helps to create life-long learners.

    Qualifications include a master’s degree in school counseling, psychology, or an M.S.W. A PhD is preferred. Minimally, 3-5 years of experience in an elementary school setting with children in these grades is ideal.

  • Middle School Homeroom Teacher (for Grade 5 or 6)

    New Canaan Country School is looking for a grade 5 or 6 homeroom teacher for September, 2018. Primary responsibilities will include overseeing a homeroom of 16 students and teaching English, math, social studies and Life Skills.  In addition, there will be coaching/extracurricular duties. 
    Qualified applicants should possess 3 to 5 years of experience and the minimum of a B.A. degree. The ideal candidate will possess intellectual curiosity and will have excellent collaboration, communication and management skills.

  • Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher

    New Canaan Country School seeks an energetic, creative and experienced Grade 4 teacher who has a strong background in elementary education and who can effectively differentiate a rich and varied curriculum based on best practices in reading, writing, math and social studies.  This candidate must understand how to create an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive classroom where all learners are encouraged to take risks. A commitment to innovation and working collaboratively with colleagues is essential. Experience teaching a balanced literacy program that incorporates social studies and non-fiction text is desirable. This position also requires the teacher to be a mentor who will work with an apprentice teacher in the classroom. A bachelor’s degree in education is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

  • Softball Coaches

    New Canaan Country School is seeking softball coaches for our fifth/sixth grade teams. It is an interscholastic sport, playing against other Fairchester League peer schools. Practices are 11:30 am-12:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Once games begin, they will be played on Monday afternoons (and there will not be Monday practices).
